Our 2009-2010 Club Directory prepared by Anne Smith. The Yellow Roses were grown and painted by Anne Smith.
Our Theme for 2009-2010
by Anne Smith

"Out of many comes knowledge resulting in creative diversity. We celebrate inclusion of our members to enhance our horticultural abilities, artistic ideas and community responsibilities through programs, activities and events."

Our Poem for 2009-2010
by Natalie Reed

My Roses to me are my true family.
They tell me that everything is possible to achieve, and I believe them.
Look at their wondrousness and delight in their beauty,
endlessly opening as we are meant to do.
Once tiny possibilities, they are now glorious and uplifting to the spirit,
and we can do this too.
Oh yes! For all that grows inwardly and outwardly is blessed!

The Geranium

Our Club has been in existence since 1932, having broken away from the Carlsbad Women’s Club. We are, by District standards, a small Club with 1 current member who joined in 1962 with others joining all of the time. We have both males and females. We range in age, background, ability to garden and size of garden, but we can all come together and enjoy each other’s company based on our common passion: gardening. We meet monthly from September to June as a Club with a combination of programs: speakers, field trips, fund raising activities, Annual Garden Tour, Carlsbad Community and Palomar District events. We also have a Discovery Group that meets monthly all year long at members’ gardens or go on field trips for more specific gardening interests. This year, we are actively pursuing contacts with other Garden Clubs. We also have begun a commitment to volunteer with the Discovery Center of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation hare in Carlsbad. Overall, we are a small therefore, quite personal, active Club open to new ideas and new members.
